Jarosław Kaliski

Collaborative Pianist, Vocal Coach, Operarépétiteur

Jarosław Kaliski is a vocal coach and pianist residing in Stockholm, Sweden. He has a particular interest in working with singers in opera and in recital. Since 2015 he has worked for the Royal Opera in Stockholm and The Grand Theatre in Warsaw as répétiteur and assistant chorus master. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Musical Performance in Opera at the Stockholm University of Arts.

Jarosław studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockhom and Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany graduating from both with distinction. Whilst a student he was awarded all the major internal awards for accompaniment as well as the numerous scholarships from Royal Academy of Music i Stockholm.

His ongoing artistic research project examines the complex relationship between piano technique and vocal performance, with a focus on methodological approaches to emulating singing voice qualities through piano playing. First presented at Stockholm Research Week 2023 and scheduled for a follow-up presentation in 2025, this work explores how pianistic approaches to rhythm subdivision, fingering patterns, and weight distribution can provide creative solutions for challenges commonly encountered in vocal performance.
